Kamchatka's wonderful and harsh nature. It's a shame I don't handle the cold well, otherwise I'd be there.

Bad ass

Look like pretty normal seas. Lake superior is worse...
Southern_Ural2025-10-04 01:47
In terms of weather conditions or ecology?
6ftonalt2025-10-04 01:47
Weather conditions lol. Although lake superior does have some pretty sick ecology

I became curious. Tourists and fishermen sometimes perish in our Lake Onega when caught in a sudden storm, and it is much smaller than Superior. Have you been there? How was it?

Yeah I live a few hours away, it's insane. For a reference, look at the story of the Edmund Fitzgerald, and listen to the great song too.

Madness. Waves 11 meters high sound like something appropriate for the Pacific Ocean, but not for what I always perceived as “just lakes, like our Baikal.” Now I see the Great Lakes system as a whole freshwater sea with its own character, and I became interested in learning more about it. Thank you!

Looks gorgeous. Can’t believe I’ve never seen a BBC nature doc about it seems like you can get some gorgeous shots there,

He dressed like mentat for Sardaukar in Dune
Southern_Ural2025-10-06 18:56
Exactly. He looks like a Sardaukar bashar and is dressed like the Harkonnen mentat in that very scene
